Faculty Mentors

Faculty mentors are an important part of the Millennium Scholars Program by developing laboratory skills, cultavating research interests and providing opportunities to conduct research.

Serving as a faculty mentor benefits the mentors and students. The opportunity to connect and collaborate with students is often personally and professionally rewarding.

The Millennium Scholars Program welcomes faculty who are interested in mentoring in formal and informal ways, such as offering students the opportunity to conduct laboratory research. Faculty mentors also are encouraged to talk about graduate school preparation. If you are interested in becoming a faculty mentor, please contact millennium@psu.edu

Many Penn State faculty members mentor Millennium Scholars in their studies and related lab work. This is a critical component of the Millennium Scholars Program, through which participating students have ample opportunities to prepare for future graduate study in STEM fields.
